In this module, you use existing documents to practice headings, lists, notices, tables, highlighting, and other format and style common to technical writing. You will also correct common writing problems in these same documents.
Technical Publishing with MS Word
In this module, one practices using of unformatted text to build a three-chapter book with MS Word. The book consists an automated table of contents, index, cross-references, and other numbering streams. Since it being unformatted, the students will reformat the text with headings, lists, notices, and highlights using templates and styles that one develops. Students will also correct common writing problems found in this text.
Graphics for Technical Writers with Adobe Photoshop and Visio
Here, one learns important Adobe Photoshop skills for handling graphics in technical documents. Students will get an insight into screen-capturing, cropping and sizing, changing graphic file format, combining, adding text labels and optimizing images. One will use Microsoft Visio to create organization and flow charts
Technical Publishing with Adobe FrameMaker
In this module, one practice using unformatted text to build a three-chapter book with Adobe FrameMaker. The book will be complete with an automated table of contents, index, cross-references, and other numbering streams, reformatting the text that will include headings, lists, notices, and highlights using templates and tags.
Technical Publishing with Adobe InDesign
Candidates are taught to use headings, lists, notices and highlights using templates and styles. They are required to build a book with three-chapters containing table of contents, index, cross-references, tables and other numbering streams with Adobe InDesign.
Online Help Documentation with Adobe RoboHelp
In this module, students practice to create and compile help projects. They learn to link topics, customizing templates, setting up indexes and table of contents. They practice using, customizing and importing style sheets.
Web Publishing with HTML, XHTML and DreamWeaver
Learn the fundamentals of using HTML and XHTML. Use Adobe DreamWeaver to create web pages containing links, frames, tables, graphics with Cascading Style Sheet.
MS Project
Gives an insight into the basics of Project Management. It enables one to understand project schedules and effectively communicate and present project information.
